USING THE SEED LIBRARY
Borrow Some Seeds
Come to the Westborough Library. Bring your library card (Westborough residents only please).
We'd suggest you check out some books in the Westborough Library collection to start. There are also many resources on the web as to how to start seeds either indoors or directly sowing them in the ground when the weather is warm enough. See our Planting Guides page. Check out our Events Page for information seed library programs at the library.
Save a Couple of Your Best Plants
Select 1-2 of your best plants to save seed from. This means, let them go all the way to flower, or if in a pod, let the pods dry out all the way till Sept.
Save Some Seeds
See our Seed Saving Page for information on how to save your seeds.
Return Some Seeds to the Library or Donate Other Seeds
Place the seeds you collected in an envelope and record the following information on the outside of the envelope:
Donate Extra Produce to the Food Pantry!
Have a bumper crop of zucchini? Bring it to the Westborough Library, and we will deliver it to the Westborough Food Pantry

- Select a packet of each type of seed you'd like to borrow.
- Fill out the form in the notebook on top of the seed catalog, so we know what you borrowed.

- What seed name and variety it is, (e.g. Kentucky Wonder, Pole Bean)
- where the seed came from (e.g. my garden, my friends' garden) and
- the date it was harvested (e.g. harvest date: Sept. 30th, 2015).
